The Sikh Research Journal (SRJ) invites submissions that expand the literature on Sikh and Punjabi Studies. We welcome contributions in the form of traditional academic articles, personal essays with clear arguments, or shorter meditations engaging Sikh Studies and/or Sikhi. Manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Topics of Interest- 1984 Anniversary: Commentaries on the implications and commemorations of 1984.
- Histories and Methodologies: Research on racism, cisheterosexism, colonialism, and decolonialism in Sikh lives.
- New Research Areas: Historical, qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research in Sikh Studies.
- Gurbaani Engagement: Studies on Sikhs' interactions with Gurbaani in various contexts.
- Contemporary Issues: Essays on community issues in Punjab and the diaspora.
- Artistic Meditations: Works on Sikh embodiment or praxis, including Gurmat sangeet and Sikh visual art.
- Book Reviews: Reviews of recent publications (2021-2024) relevant to Sikh Studies.
Submit your work through the SRJ online portal, including:
- A cover letter with the significance of your contribution and potential reviewers.
- A "Main Manuscript" document with title, text, and tables/figures.
- A "References" document.
- Keywords (4-6) and a short abstract (200-300 words).
For traditional research articles, follow APA guidelines (7th edition), Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced, and no more than 12,000 words.
